Our next social event will take place at 7pm on Friday February 13th at the Richmond clubhouse. During the evening we will present the 2014 trophies and we will also be holding a race night (horses that is, not us lot). The bar will be open and light refreshments will be provided. ALL welcome.
Well, the January Aggregate Birthday Take Away night has come and gone for another year. As more and more come out of the woodwork and admit to having a birthday in January, we celebrated our approx 300th birthday between 6 of us. I say about, because whilst I know the ages for Vic, John and myself which account for more than 60% of the total, I'm either too much of a gentleman or too big a coward to ask the 3 ladies how old they are.
After a short run, 11 of us sat down to an excellent pizza night.
The prize for the night must either go to Corrina who ordered 2 of every thing claiming half was for Hubby (yeah sure!) or Niall, where it was hard to tell which was widest, his smile or his Extra Large.
We just need to think on an excuse for our next Take Away night now.
Remember – "You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life!"
Thrilled to have been the recipient of my first ever medal for running since school, as a runner-up in this event I feel duty bound to report on the challenge of running in a floor-length coat, two-tone wig, full-length leather gloves and bling whilst carrying a spliff on a stick (it was a cigarette in a holder, daahling).
What a marvellous night we had at Kirkby Fleetham Village Hall! Thank you to everyone who brought along a contribution to the buffet. We had enough food to feed an army! After we had all eaten our fill we celebrated a wonderful season of running by presenting our 22 club shields and trophies. It was great to share in the sporting successes of our members and also have the opportunity to say thank you to some of those who dedicate so much time and effort to make the club what it is. For those winners who were unable to join us, the trophies can be collected from club nights this week.
Thanks to Richie for organising the world's biggest raffle. He even organised Father Christmas to draw the tickets! We are extremely grateful to Swaledale Outdoors Ltd, Richmond Leisure Trust, Mainsgill Farm, Richmond Brewing Company and also many of our members for generously donating some fantastic prizes.
We all really enjoyed the music provided by the fabulously talented Blue Skies. Who knew Pauline and Julia were such demons on the dance floor? The evening was rounded off with a few festive carols courtesy of Kate.
Thank you to the committee for the lovely flowers which were a wonderful surprise. Last but most certainly not least, an enormous thanks to Oonagh and all the social committee for organising such a wonderful night.
